Safety Letter from Director of Safety
At MZI we apply the science of behavior change to our real world every day safety challenges. Our process creates a safety partnership between management and our employees that continually focuses our people's attention and actions on their, and others, daily safety behavior. We focus on what our people do, analyze why they do it, and then apply research-supported intervention strategies to improve what our people do. At its very core, our safety methodology is based on a larger scientific field called organizational behavior management.
Our safety management system is applied to internalize hazard avoidance strategies or administrative controls, including use of personal protective equipment which is not used in preference to the implementation of our practical safety measures.
Our safety program includes everyone at MZI. We achieve change in behavior through change in policy, procedure and or systems. These changes could not be accomplished without the buy-in and support from all involved in making these decisions.

Mentorship
At MZI, we believe mentorship is the foundation of growth. We are committed to this principle by actively employing veterans and individuals from distressed communities, providing them with hands-on training alongside our seasoned professionals. Our goal is to equip every employee for a successful career, offering a direct pathway to full-time work and preparation for Union apprenticeship programs.
Comed Infrastructure Academy
MZI is proud of to have become a partner in the ComEd Infrastructure Academy (CONSTRUCT) since the programs’ beginnings. Powered by an alliance of companies, social service agencies, and labor unions this vital program removes barriers for individuals interested in the construction industry. CONSTRUCT helps participants develop key skills and competencies for entry-level industry jobs. Our Director of Diversity, Morgan Cauley, was a student in the inaugural class over 10 years ago.
